Inspired by Günter Grass’s “The Tin Drum”, this song tells the story of a melancholic child neglected by his parents who finds shelter in a fantasy world. He dreams of a sail ship that can carry him to remote and legendary lands guided by a mysterious white whale in this extraordinary odyssey through imaginary seas and skies.
The appeal of this fantastic world is so strong that the child makes a vow never to grow up.
