During the pandemic, isolation became mentally challenging for everyone. People started valuing freedom. At this time, skies became a source of freedom and calmness for me: when I was returning from Vancouver back home to Almaty, I had 3 flights and I spent about 30 hours looking at the sky from the plane. Because of the time difference, now I study between 10 pm to 9 am, and I get a chance to enjoy daily sunrises while I am studying. I was surrounded by skies during all my journey during the pandemic, and so it became my topic to go.
I have never drawn digitally, and I always wanted to master this. I challenged myself to draw skies digitally and make very short animation to show the movement of clouds, so Photoshop and After Effects became my friends for this project
