Houseproud is a series of prints and videos exploring domestic space as an accumulation of artifacts, heirlooms, mementos, and memories.
I used the computer program Isadora to manipulate the size and movement of old family movies to the sound of my mother's voice. As I interview her about her childhood, layered fragments of stylized halftone dot video clips morph and jump.
These scenes are interrupted by the phone ringing and the slicing of an orange. A switch back to day-to-day life in the present; her answering the call of friends and me preparing a snack for my son.
