Instead of spending couple of hours to do the muscle simulation, we only need a little skin movement for the creatures which are far away from camera. Houdini vellum provide a good solution for this. By putting the point-deformed fascia inside the skin as the pin-to-target constraint, we can achieve pretty good skin and fat jiggling within 15~30 min sim time.
