Filmed in a live-audience studio, with the stage-set back-drop of the “Hotel Zimmerfrei”,the episodes follow a “sit-com” style storyline at the “Hotel”, played by an extremely talented cast, and enhanced with some added extras. 4 regular cast members return to play their cha- racters, but have only a very basic idea of the storyline. Each episode, a guest star is introdu- ced, with only slightly more storyline info than the regular cast. Seated in the audience, with the most storyline info, is the Director, who steers the action on stage. The Director turns to the live audience for contributions to the storyline, which can be physical, as well as verbal.
With frenetic deviations to the player’s characters, situations and props, the Director throws the cast into an improvisational free-for-all, where with split second comedic clarity, they work through the twists and turns of the episode’s fluid storyline. With a talented cast at the heart of the melee, driven to produce some crazy, incredible improvisation, with added audience participation, this series builds and creates a fantastic entertainment genre that’s earning an increasingly strong following from viewers.
