Hi. I'd like to introduce you to Folklight Film Club.
Honestly, the best way to learn about this first-of-its-kind club is to watch our video.
What if Hollywood had never existed and you could make an industry of storytelling? What would you make it?
Storytelling began as a prehistoric, worldwide tradition that brought communities closer together through sharing stories, values, and wisdom. The businessmen who created the Hollywood studio system made an industry of storytelling, and changed its fundamental purpose, shifting the focus to creating illusion, collecting power, influence, and money, and playing out their own personal fantasies.
Folklight Film Club aims to create a new industry of storytelling through the medium of film and refocus on storytelling's original purpose - bringing our community closer together through our stories, our values, our wisdom, and quality time spent together.
Welcome to the world's first farm-to-table film.
It's the first membership experience around actually making a movie.
Here's how it works:
- Our professional Hollywood team (the "chef") makes a narrative feature film that's inspired by our community (the "farm").
- Members attend events that keep them connected to the making of this movie, and members actually influence the movie being made.
- Together, we change the world by changing what stories we tell, why we tell them, and how - bringing the worldwide, prehistoric tradition of storytelling back to its roots in community. Our community.
We have just begun here in Sonoma County and our first film shoots in September.
We think Sonoma County is the perfect place for this new, community-centered storytelling movement to grow and thrive, and we invite you to be a part of it.
Membership is $79/quarter.
