Quiet you mind.
Relax your body.
Open your heart.
Your heart, my heart, our hearts, a loving image which quickly comes to mind when reflecting in February
Just as God created the universe to be ever expanding, so too our hearts are meant to expand,
pouring loving action into our troubled world.
God is forever coming into our world through each of us as we allow our hearts to expand welcoming the stranger, the child, the immigrant.
Pope Francis puts it this way, “Let your heart receive mercy…and with your hands give mercy to others.”
Heart expanding activity calls us and is grace-filled.
• Listening to the child with full attention
• Visiting the homebound or lonely elder
• Gazing at the night sky with awe
• Forgiving one who has offended me
• Asking forgiveness for having offended
• Approaching the new day with an open heart
Expanding hearts are aware of the want and need in others.
