When I was 14 years old, my parents transferred me into a high school outside of my district.
It was really scary, I didn’t know a single person there. I felt discouraged, lost, and lonely.
And it wasn’t until I met a guy named Austin, and he introduced me to Breaking, the first element of Hip Hop, and the dance that redefined human limits.
After that day, I was hooked.
I started learning everything I could about Hip Hop and Breaking from articles, books, and Youtube. Who made it, How it came to be, what it stands for, and the potential it could bring out of kids like me.
Eventually, I was inspired to start making videos of my own, documenting the movement and sharing it through online channels.
The more I work, the more I realize how much my identity resides within the intersection of Hip Hop, media, and technology. As these tools become more and more accessible to everybody, so does the opportunity to bring all kinds of people together under this culture of peace, unity, love, and having fun.
Now, through the power of this convergence, I hope to craft stories that will reach new generations, inspire new leaders, and expand our tribe of positivity and wellness to the people who need it most.
