1. As an organization we are taking action and looking at strategies on how we can move forward in the agriculture industry regarding renewable fuels, export markets, domestic markets, etc. We will continue to work on these major topics due to the impact of Covid-19.
2. Reminder the CFAP deadline is Sept. 11. Producers should be receiving their remaining 20% from original CFAP allotment for profit loss on various commodities.
3. We are hearing additional discussions whether congress will or will not do another stimulus package. This is still in progress and we hope to hear more after their August recess.
4. We met with the DOA to discuss ways to assist the “U Pick” operations such as apples and pumpkins. With the lack of fall festivals, we are looking at ways to assist and incentivize these producers.
5. Illinois Harvest Season Permit starts Sept 1st and runs through December 31st. This allows a 10% weight variance on state highways. Our new staff member Rodney Knittel ([email protected]) can answer any questions regarding this topic moving forward.
