Middle East’s Largest Gathering of VW Clubs, Owners and Fans Celebrates Third Event at Yas Marina Circuit

More than 300 hundred VW drivers from across the GCC packed into Yas Marina Circuit grounds this weekend for two days of activities including a huge convoy around the streets of the UAE’s capital.

With clubs and fans travelling from countries from Bahrain to Germany, KSA to USA, the event celebrated its third anniversary in the region with an event bigger and better than ever before.

Dub Drive GCC was inspired by an old tradition, Wöerthersee Club Treffen - the largest Volkswagen GTI event in the world. The festival started over 36 years ago in a small village at Lake Wöerthersee in Austria, with a few Volkswagen fans meeting up, showcasing their cars and exchanging stories. Since then, the event has grown into a 3 week-long festival attended by hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen fans from all over Europe.

After the inaugural GCC festival drew 150 cars and 300 fans to Dubai Autodrome, VW Middle East have continued to throw support behind the event, which this year came to Abu Dhabi for the first time. It exists to unite and reward Volkswagen clubs and fans across the region and to celebrate the love for the brand, the cars and what Volkswagen stands for.
