공연에서는 일곱 명의 무용수가 끊임없이 흐르는 물의 움직임을 따라 ‘파도와 같이’ 매혹적으로 움직입니다. 이들은 하나가 되어 움직이고 숨 쉬며 마치 바다를 그린 한 폭의 회화처럼 그 속에 녹아들어 감각을 고조시킵니다. 일곱 무용수의 몸은 마치 원형으로 이루어진, 일종의 의식 같은 풍경을 강하고도 섬세하게 만들어 냅니다. 은 독일 무용수이자 안무가인 퍼트리샤 캐럴린 마이와 한국 춤에 기반을 둔 컨템퍼러리 댄스 컴퍼니 ‘99아트컴퍼니’의 독특하고도 강렬한 만남으로 탄생했습니다. *GAL: ‘파도’라는 뜻의 히브리.

The f*e*m*a*l*e* wave...

In GAL-GAL seven female bodies follow the flow of water reeling incessantly, as they find themselves in a magnetising “wave-state”. They move and breathe as one, lost in an ever-rotating aquatic painting, aiming to feel more. One occasionally separates from the swarm in search for touch, to then once again merge to one large organism. The bodies enter a ritualistic circular landscape, passionate to continue, strong and fragile at the same time in their longing to move. The inner struggle of each individual triggers a range of movement that constantly propels the group. Incorporating local origins and traditions, GAL-GAL is a unique and intensive encounter between the German Contemporary dancer and choreographer Patricia Carolin Mai and the 1999 Art Company, a contemporary dance company based on Korean dance. *GAL (hebr.
