Folklight Film Club is a new Sonoma County based independent film company. Storytelling began as a prehistoric, worldwide tradition that brought communities closer together through shared stories, values, and wisdom. We aim to bring storytelling through the medium of film back to those roots, bringing our community closer together through our stories and quality time spent together.

We are producing our first feature film in May and June. It’s a heartwarming drama that focuses on three groups of people who are underrepresented in Hollywood’s offerings, but are integral to Sonoma County life – older women, members of our Latinx community, and Sonoma County LGBTQ people. Our script has been inspired by real Sonoma County people’s personal stories and identities, and we are keeping our community connected to the entire process through live in person events throughout the making of the film.

Other exciting news is that Folklight Film Club will be the subject of a documentary TV series. An award-winning documentary team will be following us for two years and sharing the story about our new community-centered filmmaking movement with the world, as we have plans to open Folklight chapters in communities nationwide.

We are looking to partner with local businesses and national brands who are aligned with our vision and want to support this new community-centered model while getting their brand in front of a lot of warm and loving eyes.
