The project took over two years to complete, with 43 days of guerilla shooting in the active metro system of Montreal, six months of costume building, and over a year of post production. The film was captured entirely on iPhone 7 using only a wheelchair, a monopod, and a handheld stabilizer. What began as just a short film evolved into something much larger, combining guerrilla filmmaking, performance art, original costume, still photography, and urban exploration.

While living in Montreal, director Mishka Kornai, costume designer Odette Mattha, and cinematographer Luke Orlando chose the city’s metro system as the central inspiration for a collaborative project. Each station, designed by a different architect, possesses its own distinct aesthetic, forming a network that is simultaneously interconnected and starkly differentiated like the internet today. Enlisting a team of local dancers, filmmakers, and artists, they created a surreal post-human future and the imaginative beings who populate it.

Ce projet a été complété à l’intérieur de 2 ans comprenant 43 jours de tournage guérilla dans le circuit actif du métro de la Ville de Montréal, 6 mois de fabrication de costumes et plus d’un an de post-production. Les équipements utilisés lors de la captation du film sur iPhone 7 furent une chaise-roulante, un monopode et un stabilisateur à main. Ce qu’initialement avait pour but d’être un court métrage se transforma rapidement en projet plus élaboré, combinant plusieurs médiums tels que la réalisation guérilla, l’art de la performance, costumes originaux, photographie et exploration urbaine.

Lors de leur séjour à Montréal, Mishka Kornai, réalisateur, Odette Mattha, costumière, et Luke Orlando, cinématographe, ont choisi le métro comme point central d’inspiration pour monter un projet collaboratif. Chaque station dessiné par un architecte différent possède son esthétique distinct, créant un réseau qui paraît à la fois interrelié et totalement disparate tel que nous connaissons l’internet aujourd’hui. Engageant créativement une équipe de danseurs locaux, de cinématographes et artistes, ils ont créé un futur post-humain surréel ainsi que les êtres qui le peupleraient.
