Fear swings is a one-to-one performance located in the basement of the cultural center Tempio del Futuro Perduto, in Milan. In order to access the action space you have to descend a ramp of stairs at the end of which a sign on the door invites you to observe silence, be curious, if you decide to go beyond the closed door.
During the performance, the artists- without talking- engages with each person in a cathartic observation of their fears, burning the strings attaching the artist's hair (n.b. tied in 27 plaits) to the swing.
The artist shows the person sat opposite the writing at the bottom of the swing "What is your biggest fear?", then hands a marker to write the answer on the swing.
Materials: one wooden swing, rope, strings, one box of long matches, two banana leaves cushions, one black marker.
Duration: 4,5 hours.
