Over the past year, FareShare South West has scaled up operations by six times to deliver emergency food across the region.
Starting our first emergency operation in March 2020 during the first lockdown, we delivered over 12 months of non-stop emergency food, responding constantly to the changing food needs of our region. We have worked with some incredible partners, volunteers and people in our city and beyond, as well as some inspirational frontline charities. Over winter, we delivered our biggest operation yet- FoodStock 2020- which acted as a vital food safety net for our region and delivered food for over 3.5 million meals. We have also expanded our geographical reach, delivering food for 1.9 million meals into Devon and Cornwall for the first time.
Our 2020-21 impact report unpacks the year, during which 2,598 tonnes of food was distributed to frontline charities and organisations across the South West.
