Enter the Grove is an Artistic Storytelling Imagination Cinema (ASIC) film made for you to watch at home via Vimeo On Demand. A performance on film.
The central story of D E E P S O I L speaks of the Kinfolx, a magical folk who worship a subterranean layer of earth, minerals and the consciousness therein. Two opposing forces (the Line of Kiln and the Folk of Ein) are faced with the bare reality of brittle earth on their formerly emerald green planet.
Hybrid between a nature priest and a sassy singer, the artist Jasper Griepink will guide you on a journey which interlaces the atmosphere of a music-gig with mythology of a seemingly ancient world. Expect ambiance, saga, jumping and singing – and of course, a cascading narrative that takes you elsewhere.
Three songs are braided into the central narrative in this film. This is the music from S T O N E O R G Y, a music project that is based on a research into paganism, Druidry and the power of oral storytelling. Griepink collaborated on these musical arrangements with musician Giek_1, who also sings second voice in this theatrical performance film.
Best prepare for some unexpected plot twist, or shall we say, plot-weeding?

Enter the Grove was originally performed on a live-stream at IMPAKT festival 2020. Due to COVID-19, no live audience was present at the otherwise interactive performance work. Interactive parts of this performance have been omitted for the purpose of this online film. Though remastered for your viewing experience, some audio breaks/errors can occur due to the live-stream quality of the original footage.
