About the Work
From August 3rd to September 29th, 2019, at the Reborn-Art-Festival held in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, the moving light installation Emerge was on display inside a cave at the base of the mountain in the Oginohama area.

This cave was constructed by the former Japanese navy during the war so as to store torpedoes, but decades after the war, the entrance was covered up by plants, and the surface of the rock became covered in moss, producing an ambiance with a primordial intensity.
While sometimes intense and drawing traces out at random, Emerge displayed a variety of aspects inside the darkness, and makes those who appreciated art feel that “anima = dwelling in movement, and life”.

2019年8月3日から9月29日まで、宮城県石巻市で開催されたReborn-Art-Festival（リボーンアート・フェスティバル）にて、萩浜エリアの山の麓にある洞窟の奥で蠢く光のインスタレーション「Emerge」を公開。戦時中に旧日本海軍が魚雷を格納するために作られたこの洞窟は、戦後数十年を経て、入り口周辺は植物で覆われ、岩の表面は苔生し、原始的な迫力を感じさせる雰囲気を醸し出している。「Emerge」は、時に激しく、軌跡をランダムに描き出しながら、暗がりの中でさまざまな表情を見せ、鑑賞者に「アニマ＝動きに宿る、いのち」を感じさせる。
