Made this scene with the elbow crab model downloaded from threedscans. Created lowpoly mesh with Z-Brush and zremesher, UVs with with C4D (yes, they are useable since R22) and made the crab texture with Substance Designer (ground texture from substance source).
Built a suitable rig in C4D and then animated it.
Completely noise free real time rendering really helps to tweak fine texture details and normals and of corse speeds up staging and light setup and how it behaves together with the animation. �
