No dia 8 de Junho de 2021, às 12h, será inaugurada a exposição “Dionísio Del Santo: Construtivismo Imagético”, parte da programação do Gallery Week e do SP-Arte Viewing Room. A mostra estará disponível na galeria a partir de 8 de junho e no site da SP-Arte, a partir do dia 9.

As pinturas a óleo, de caráter construtivo na sua estrutura sintética, contrapõem-se ao processo rítmico, e quase óptico, das gravuras.

Sobre esses trabalhos, a curadora Maria Alice Milliet comenta que “Em certas pinturas, as figuras são de tal forma subordinadas à geometria que somente a presença de delicados traços negros em lugares estratégicos sugere que uma esfera ou retângulo possa representar uma cabeça humana ou de animal. Essa depuração formal encontra sua versão mais radical nos quadros pintados de 1960 a 65, período em que sua produção mais se aproxima da arte concreta”

On July 8 2021, at 12pm, the exhibition "Dionísio Del Santo: Iconographic Constructivist” opens, part of the SP-Arte Viewing Room and Gallery Week program. The exhibition will be available at the gallery on June 8 and on the SP-Arte website on June 9.

The oil paintings, constructive in their synthetic structure, contrast with the rhythmic and almost optical process of the engravings.

About these works, the curator Maria Alice Milliet comments that "In certain works, the figures are so intensely subordinated to geometry that only the presence of certain delicate traces in black placed in strategic locations indicate that a circle or a rectangle can indeed represent the head of a human or of an animal. This formal process of refinement reaches its apex in his paintings from 1960 to 65, a period in which his production best resembles the concrete movement."
