2018 Graphic Design Degree Project
The marriage between cooking and music within cultures is a rhythmic and dynamic relationship. The unlikely combination of smell and sound share similar characteristics that work harmoniously with one another. Drawing inspiration from my Filipino background where both elements mingle to play an integral role in bringing people together, I bring a sense of cross-cultural lens into the concept, combining Filipino cuisine with popular music from America. In this project, I explore the orchestration within cooking and its symbiotic relationship with the melodies of a song.
Did You Eat Yet? comes from the saying that one would be greeted with as the walk
through the doors of a Filipino aunt’s kitchen, such as mine. This phrase launches the whole orchestra of food making into action.
