De entre las muertas es el título de la primera exposición individual de DIANA LARREA en la galería Espacio Mínimo, un proyecto que nace a partir de la acción artística online “Tal día como hoy” que la artista ha venido desarrollando los últimos años en internet. Se trata de un trabajo híbrido de activismo feminista e investigación histórica que consiste en publicar en las redes sociales las biografías y obras de mujeres artistas del pasado olvidadas o desconocidas. Este intenso proceso de estudio y divulgación llevado a cabo durante dos años, le ha permitido conocer el trabajo de más de 480 creadoras plásticas de distintas disciplinas procedentes de diversas culturas, desde la Edad Media hasta el siglo XX. Gracias a esta revisión histórica enfocada en la recuperación y revalorización de la labor artística de las mujeres, he encontrado -como dice la artista- unos nuevos referentes artísticos femeninos a los que me siento vinculada de un modo extraño y permanente. Se trata de un imaginario colectivo reciente que ha estado oculto hasta hace poco y cuyo descubrimiento ha supuesto para mí una revelación. En este proceso he podido comprobar cómo mi necesidad personal coincide con una necesidad colectiva compartida por las artistas actuales. Como si hubiera nacido un nuevo movimiento artístico que yo llamo “Feminismo mágico”, esta nueva corriente del arte está en consonancia con nuestro particular contexto social contemporáneo y refleja una manera intuitiva de sentirnos conectadas las artistas del presente con las del pasado.

From Among the Deat (De entre las muertas) is the title of DIANA LARREA’s first solo exhibition at Espacio Mínimo gallery. A project which born from my online artistic action “Tal Día como hoy” (“On this day”), a hybrid work of feminist activism and historical research that consists of publishing on social networks the biographies and works of women artists of the past, forgotten or unknown. This intense process of study and dissemination, carried out over two years, has allowed me to know the work of more than 480 fine art creators from different disciplines, from different cultures, and from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century. Thanks to this historical review focused on the recovery and revaluation of women’s artistic work, I have found new feminine artistic references to which I feel linked in a strange and permanent way. It is a recent collective imaginary that has been hidden until recently and whose discovery has been a revelation to me. In this process I have been able to verify how my personal need coincides with a collective need shared by today’s artists. As if a new artistic movement that I call “Magic Feminism” was born. This new stream of art is in line with our particular contemporary social context and reflects an intuitive way of feeling, connecting the artists of the present with those of the past.
