My cousin Steven Terris lived with his family on Sunswept Drive in Studio City. His family knew I was crazy about making movies. One day when I was over at his place one day,
his Dad mentioned if we wanted to go see a real TV commercial being filmed. Steve yawned and I exploded with a very affirmative “YES!” We climbed in the 1964 Renault Dauphin and headed down the hill. I settled in for a long drive to a major Hollywood dream factory like Paramount and be able to go through those famous gates Like Norma Desmond. (Even at 14 I was Star Struck and had seen “Sunset Blvd”) So down the hill to Ventura Blvd we made a right and I knew we were going to the Hollywood Freeway.
Suddenly the car stopped in front of small office and pulled into the parking lot.
“We’re here” the dad said
“We’re here?” I said looking at the 1960 version of a high school building wondering how they made “movies” in there.
The Place had a sign in the front.

FilmFair.
(FilmFair was founded by American animator Gus Jekel in Los Angeles. After working with Walt Disney Productions and other Hollywood animation studios in the 1930s, Jekel incorporated FilmFair because he wanted the freedom to create live-action work as well. The studio was in "Animation Alley", a stretch of Cahuenga Boulevard that runs through Studio City in northern LA.)
