Artist Biography
David Toby Gurrola, better known as Toby, is an artist from the San Fernando Valley in California. As a full time student, Toby makes various works using multiple mediums and media. From video making, to digital illustration, to web design and drawing, Toby has earned a wide set of skills. Toby has worked within the LAUSD, specifically with Carlos Santana Arts Academy, as a freelance artist, making programs and other graphic designs. He will be receiving his Bachelors in Art in the spring of 2020.
Artist Statement
I really enjoyed making this video. I love magic and anything with witch aesthetics. I decided to have fun with this one and just do something fun and kind of silly.
The music I made in GarageBand was also fun to make. I wanted some of the sounds from the music to sync up with some of the action in the video.
The shots in this video were made using a 5 shot sequence. It provided a good structure for the shots and I learned there’s such thing as a standard for a 5 shot sequence.
