Good morning and welcome to the Daily Dish. Today is Wednesday, April 22nd, and it is a gold day.

I decided to film outside because today is Earth Day! Earth Day takes place every year on April 22nd, and it is an annual event celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970, and it now includes global events by more than 193 countries.

One of my favorite things at school is the whale that hangs in our cafeteria. The whale installation was a collaborative project born out of the Class of 2019's environmental concern. They engineered and designed the whale out of recycled materials while learning about the effects of single-use plastics on our environment, specifically marine life. The Class of 2019 hopes the whale inspires Atlanta Academy students to take action regarding their use of single-use plastics.

Let's remember that we are taking care of Earth not for ourselves but for the future generations to come!
