I needed a break from all of the administrative headaches of my job lately, so on the weekends and evenings I worked on a little logo animation for the Digital Animation Center that I direct. Inspiration for this actually came from an assignment that I give my freshmen level students in Animation Foundations.
Huge props to Chris Lemon for his help with render wrangling on the render farm at the DAC. I had to crank the sampling settings in Arnold because of all of the motion blur, volumetrics, mesh lights, and depth of field. I will never forget Chris' text the other day..."88 machines are currently doing your bidding." :-)
Took an evening on the farm to render the 380 animated frames. Would have been 24 days on my single iMac Pro at home.
