Commissioned by Corona Mexico and Observatory, I directed this stop-frame film that travels through the intertwined history of Mexico and Corona.

Narrated by Gael García Bernal and inspired by the art of Pedro Friedeberg, it was produced at Nexus Studios. We worked with Andy Gent’s team at Arch Model Studio to design, create and animate a cast of 71 miniature characters, 8 detailed sets and 350 individually made miniature glass bottles.

The film illustrates key historical events boiled down into 4'x3' dioramas.

The music is by Bridget Samuels and was recorded by an orchestra of more than 50 people at Air Studios in London.

Corona put together a making of which you can watch here: vimeo.com/326534667/29bc784eed

Special thanks to Jack Cunningham for his work as Art Director, James Graham who designed the characters and the big team of artists who put a lot of love and sweat into this!
