CollageMory is an imaginative term in which memory, and more precisely that triggered by the photographic image, and the artistic technique of collage meet and become the inspiration and constituent element of the collection.
As in the old collages of the German artist Hannah Höch - belonging to the Dada movement - who first used the photographic collage technique for a dreamlike journey in his memory, so Ziggy Chen, a great travel enthusiast and meticulous collector of the images taken during his explorations, he experimented with the technique of photographic collage by imprinting it on fabric. The images of a 2017 trip to Varanasi mix and juxtapose taking on new meanings, and are arranged on fine linen and cotton fabrics made in Italy exclusively for the SS21 Ziggy Chen collection.
