This is a channel identity animation for a channel branding project in college. We were given a fictitious channel called "Fudge".
The concept for my channel is a news provider that exposes people to information and ideas from all sides of the political spectrum and negates filter bubbles. Fudge displays the week’s top news stories from the Left, Center and Right of the political spectrum.
I wanted to use the octopus in the identity animation because I love how majestic they look and how intelligent they are. Octopus display beautiful symmetry and balance when they move. For these reasons I felt this creature would represent the channels brand perfectly. In the animation I wanted the octopus to represent the path to enlightenment and I want the viewer to feel like they are on that journey too.
