Pravah ICS volunteers are part of a team of 20 to 30 volunteers from UK and India, and live with local families in the village where they are placed, working on rural development projects, developing new skills for work and life. Pravah ICS aims to bring about personal development of volunteers, while they work on impactful projects in the community and in the long term, inspire active citizenship for self and the community. The programme has seen
participation by young people from a myriad of cultures and communities from within India and UK. This cross-cultural team not only strives to reduce inequalities and problems which it recognises in its host community, but in that process, weaves change within each volunteer. After completion of placement in the host community, volunteers’ journeys
proceed to their home community, and they work on the ‘Action at Home’ project while applying their learning of development in their own communities.

The Pravah ICS program has come to an end in 2018, but the fond memories and deep impactful 5th Space journeys and continue to inspire us.
