Self care is often at the forefront of internet culture as of 2019, but what is even more important, is self love. A photographer shares a little more about this often misunderstood genre of imaging in order to shed some light on how empowering this experience truly is. In her eyes, this is important work, because every woman deserves to feel beautiful in her own skin.

One of my favourite projects I've shot so far this spring. This is a short promotional video I recently created for a local photographer. I wanted to incorporate her voice and explanation as it's a topic she is truly passionate about, while also depicting a typical session. All of this had to be executed in a way that was thematically, and visually on brand.

I'm really pleased with how some of this footage turned out. We had very little level to work with as the primary source was a small window on an overcast morning. Augmenting that key with a small LED panel, and shaping the light with bounce and negative fill yielded some beautiful results. Overall, the message behind this video, coupled with the production design, lighting and camera movement of this project render it something I can say I'm proud of.

Shot on 2 Panasonic GH5 bodies, with the Sigma Art 18-35mm and 50-100mm f1.8 lenses via a Metabones adapter, and a Nikon 50mm f1.8 via a Metabones 0.64x Speedbooster XL.
