I finally had time to make something.
Black Lives Matter.
Stop over policing black and brown communities.
Stop killing my people.
Defund the police.
Spend the funds in community programs that actually address the issues leading to criminal activity. Spend more on education, on healthcare, on mental health care, on community programs...
Give reparations.
Stop killing them.
White people: recognize your privilege especially white men and use your voice to uplift the disenfranchised.
I know I’m a white passing Latina and it’s something I acknowledge, but I am genetically 30% black and indigenous, so I have black and indigenous ancestors, these are my people.
It’s been some very difficult weeks to face the injustices again that they continue to suffer, but I hope this really is the tipping point where things change from now on. There is a lot that needs to be dismantled.
Let’s not let this movement die.
