Black June started out by documenting the Seattle Protests this year (2020) after the public lynching of George Floyd. What started as a weekend project, continues to shift and move through live feed journalism and daily documenting of the ever changing tides. Influencer/Co-Director Maria Marin aka LA China has taken to the streets nearly every day to offset media and share the truth in realtime. While Co-Director Anthony Tackett has been filming cinematic style and leading a collective of filmmakers who are dedicated to following the true story of the situation. Capturing the stories from within the protests, The Capital Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) along with daily marches, inspirational speakers and calls to action. After over 30 days, the movement is continuing to evolve and live on beyond CHOP. Our commitment to document will continue, until a peaceful resolution is found or until the movement is quelled.
