Step up to and under a barbell with your feet at hip-width apart.
Bend your knees, push your hips back to lower down and grip the barbell, overhand, with both hands just outside your feet.
Keep your back flat, your head and chest proud and shoulders relaxed.
Brace your core and engage your back.
Pick the bar up off the ground by pushing the floor away.
Continue pushing with your legs until the barbell passes your knees, then thrust your hips forward until you are standing up.
Reverse your movement until the bar returns to its starting place on the ground.
