Bach is one of my favorite composers, but often his contrapuntal works don't transfer well to harp, for their dense textures and chromaticism (He actually predates the modern double action, which is standard on pedal harps). Lever harps present another challenge: without pedals, any accidentals or non-diatonic notes must be activated manually with the levers up top. In searching for a Bach piece that would be workable on lever harp, I found that the first Well-Tempered prelude works just fine, albeit with a few acrobatic lever turns. In working through this piece, I return to a piece that I first played on piano probably twenty years ago, and relive the joy of discovering its dramatic harmonic turns and simple beauty.
