Music Video for my Final Second year research project for my Digital Design Studio IV paper.

My research question was
'Is it possible to draw directly on video footage in a way that integrates the visuals convincingly and captures the spontaneity of the hand drawn film footage without a computer?'

I created this piece by using practical effects without the use of computer technology such as after effects. The only use of a computer was to edit the piece together.

I used two different types of effects.
[ Shooting Effects ] Effects made during shooting, such as the lighting, the smoke, and the lens distortions.
And then [ Post Effects ] Effects made during post which involved printing out frame by frame screenshots, drawing patterns over top (similar to cell animation) then scanning them back in to create the final piece.

This idea was inspired by the work of RuffMercy.
