Au Philia follows the daily life of a young woman living in a rural home. We watch her go through everyday acts like cooking, washing her face, doing laundry, and taking a bath.
Each action has the common thread of an inescapable dark, polluted water pouring from every water source. We see how water pollution caused by the fashion industry has infiltrated everywhere with no regard to who or what is being hurt.
Subtle hints to the state of the industry are shown through a radio announcement and newspaper headlines in her home.
As she moves through her environments, the weight of the fashion industry’s impact becomes too much to bear and like Ophelia in Hamlet, she joins the river to be pulled down to her death.
