Have you ever wondered what an AR tour of Jože Plečnik's amazing but unrealized "Cathedral of Freedom" might look like?
At AR9 we've recently become more and more interested in the potential that a future symbiosis of cultural heritage, architecture and XR technology has to offer.
Our team is developing a geolocation based app that is able to seemlessly solve the synchronization of AR space and the GPS coordinates of a specific location, which allows for a multitude of interesting potential use cases. In the one displayed in this video, we experimentally placed a simplified 3D model of Plečnik's parliament proposal into Tivoli park, close to the site where it was planned.
This glimpse into the future (and in a different way, past) is a small, but promising showcase of AR's potential impact.
