UMA ENTREVISTA COM O BANQUEIRO ANARQUISTA
“O Banqueiro Anarquista” é um romance de Fernando Pessoa, escrito em 1922, publicado na revista literária modernista “Contemporânea”. O texto retrata uma conversa após o jantar, entre um banqueiro abastado e um amigo. Durante a conversa o banqueiro insiste que é anarquista por princípio e acção. Afirma que a sua faceta anarquista se coaduna na sua actividade enquanto banqueiro.
Tendo como ponto de partida o texto de Pessoa e a situação económica actual, criou-se uma entrevista com o Banqueiro Anarquista. Com a intenção de estabelecer pontos de contacto entre a posição paradoxal e abstrata de um banqueiro que é anarquista e os discursos recolhidos de banqueiros e anarquistas durante o momento atual. O resultado é um diálogo ficcional composto por uma multitude de discursos proferidos pelos diferentes sujeitos politicos.

AN INTERVIEW WITH THE ANARCHIST BANKER
In 1922 a short novel written by Fernando Pessoa, “The Anarchist Banker”, was published in the modernist literary magazine Contemporânea. The text consists of a dialogue, taking place after dinner, between a wealthy banker and his friend. During this conversation the banker insists that he is an anarchist in principle and action. He claims that his activity as a banker is a logical facet of his anarchist practice.
Taking Pessoa’s text as a starting point, we have written a fictional interview with the Anarchist Banker. The interview attempts to negotiate the paradoxical, and somewhat abstract, position of such a character by interweaving perspectives advanced by bankers and anarchists during the current crisis. The result is a fictional dialogue composed of ‘real’ answers expressing the positions of a multitude of political subjects.
For our assembly session we will introduce some parts of the interview with the AB as a way of opening a dialogic process. Starting by reading some excepts of the fictional dialogue, we will address the audience with questions that unfold from the positions advanced in the text. In this manner, we aim to expand the dialogue through the intersection of different positions of enunciation.
