The Coronavirus pandemic has turned our world upside down. What it has not changed, however, is the American Cancer Society's commitment to attacking cancer from all angles. As we all transition to embracing work-from-home arrangements and social distancing, staying connected is more important than ever. This campaign encourages individuals to create personalized lip sync videos from their laptops and social media channels to spark joy and encourage optimism.
As a public health organization, the Society committed to the safety of our attendees, staff, and volunteers, especially those with compromised immune systems and currently battling cancer. We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and our goal is to respond in a way that best meets the health and safety needs of those who rely on us.

Now, more than ever, it is important to support your American Cancer Society. Under the best of circumstances a cancer diagnosis can be frightening and devastating. Now, as the COVID-19 crisis grows larger every day, cancer patients – many who already have compromised immune systems - are more vulnerable than ever. Here is what the American Cancer Society is doing right now to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our National Cancer Information Center is being staffed 24/7 so that even now families can get answers from a live person wherever they are, no matter what time it is.
Information is a crucially important resource right now. We’re continually updating our website Cancer.org and social media channelswith the latest information and guidance for cancer patients from our public health experts.

We’ve shifted our Reach to Recovery one on one support program to 100% virtual, linking new breast cancer patients with survivors who have had a similar diagnosis and treatment plan.
With the support of our grassroots volunteers, our advocacy affiliate the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) staff have been working diligently on Capitol Hill to ensure the perspective of our patients and other stakeholders are included in the legislation that is designed to mitigate the financial and public health crises caused by this pandemic. ACS CAN joined 28 patient advocacy organizations in signing a letter urging Congress to enact the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which was signed by the President this week.
