The Office of the President of Allen Univeristy is proud to present the Colour of Music Festival’s Columbia, South Carolina debut performance in the historic Chappelle Auditorium.

Rededicated in 2016, the 500 seat Auditorium was an addition completed in 1925, and was the largest gathering place for African-Americans in the City of Columbia. The historic Chappelle Hall had one of the first meetings of freed blacks in the State of South Carolina.

The historic University has played a significant role in African American life - during the 1960's serving as the gathering place to plan protest during the civil rights movement.
