For Aiden, one of our Courageous Faces Foundation Champions, dealing with dup15q syndrome is far more than difficult. The most effective treatment so far in connecting him better with the outside world is therapeutic horse riding. His condition has elements of autism, but is far more involved and complex with additional complications. Although Aiden is still not “verbal,” the unique movement of the horse has proven to help him function more fully than any other treatment. He connects through Promise Ranch in Parker, Colorado and has made remarkable improvement in relating to everything around him. Specialists say the bareback ride in several different positions helps Aiden reconnect some neural pathways that nothing else so far has been able to do.
