150 years ago the Industrial Revolution sparked a massive backlash by philosophers, artists and architects who wanted to return to a world shaped by the hands of artisans. The human imprint was becoming more scarce amongst factories and machines that were now building more of the world around them, and the Arts & Crafts Movement arose as a counterbalance to the change. From that movement came Craftsman Architecture and it changed an entire era’s way of life. There are few places it be seen as well as Mission Hills in San Diego, California and this home we listed last month at 1755 Fort Stockton for @sequoiawestproperties is not only a hallmark Craftsman style home, it was the first home of the first developer in all of the community.
