This is an impromptu photo and video shooting of a large snapping turtle as it searches for a nesting site, digs a nest in loose gravel and lays over a dozen eggs before covering the nest up and returning to her wetland habitat.
The entirety of the visual material was shot at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area on 20th of June 2019. The hatchlings shown are from mid-September 2018.
Can’t rush a turtle on land, Can’t make an action movie with a turtle, Can’t downplay a turtle’s determination to insure the survival of its species, Can’t hurry in watching this video, Sit back, relax and enjoy this bit of natural beauty.
