Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the entire country. There are an estimated 4,000 workers at the job site on any given day.
Fighting against open-shop practices, the use of non-union and union members on a job site, Count Me In holds weekly rallies outside of Hudson Yards every Thursday at 6 a.m.
Tierra Williams was fired from her non-union job, she says, because she reported that she was being sexually harassed. Williams cites her local laborer union, Local 79, for helping create safer work environments for women in the construction industry.
