Goal: When you take a step forward your dog will give focus and sit when you stop.

Training Steps:
1. Take a treat in your hand that will be closest to your dog and use it to guide them up to your side. Click/treat when their nose lines up with your knee. (no sit yet) Do this until your dog is comfortable coming up to your side (no hesitation at all).
2. Next, we will add the sit. Use your lure to help your dog into a sit.
3. Now use your lure as you take one step forward. Stop at the end of this step and lure your dog back into a sit.
4. You can slowly work up to 2, 3, 4, and 5 steps. 5. 5. Keep your dog connected using your lure as you walk.
6. Add the cue when your dog is easily staying connected to your lure. This can be “with me”, “heel”, “let’s walk” etc.
