Dragon Trainer Heimerdinger was extremely fun to work on because Yordles are generally more cartoony types of characters (can use a lot more squash/stretch, and jumping around). If you watched the Joke animation breakdown for Heimerdinger you'll have noticed that the beginning ideation versions used a lot of small dragons interacting with the one in Heimer's head. The initial idea was to have a flock of little dragons showing that Heimer was sort of a master of many but it didn't feel grand enough. Luckily, Heimer's gameplay mechanic involves spawning small and big turrets, which in this skin were ALSO dragons! So we repurposed them into the recall so that Heimerdinger could show off the entire family. By using three dragons of different types, I could animate them all with different characteristics: one small baby dragon rolling like a ball, one airborne flapping dragon sweeping in wide arcs, and one big lumbering heavy dragon that would waddle and throw others around b/c of how large and strong he is!

The biggest challenge in this recall was staging since there are gameplay constraints with space and timing for animations in League of Legends. Trying to consolidate so many characters into one small area was really hard and balancing it was challenging, but it worked out in the end!! :D
