The 14th amendment of the United States Constitution ensures due process and equal protection under the law for all persons. It also states that any person born in the U.S. is a citizen. On the 150th anniversary of its ratification, the amendment still stands at the heart of many current social and political battlegrounds from immigration reform to abortion rights, from the Black Lives Matter to the #MeToo movement.
