Fifth Sunday After Pentecost
Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom he has chosen as his heritage.
Let us pray:
O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments
by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart and united to one another with pure affection; through
Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Hymn
The Battle Hymn of the Republic (verse 1 and 4) BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
he is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; he hath loosed the fateful lightning of his terrible swift sword;
his truth is marching on.
Refrain:
Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, with a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me; as he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, while God is marching on. Refrain
