Diving into the depths of one’s subconscious, the exploration between time, space and motion will be examined to the conscious state of mind.

In an exploration of time and space through the subconscious state, Transform examines the time differences, movement and transitions between a state of unconsciousness and consciousness. Through the perspective of a young teenage girl, her inner thoughts begin to take control as we dive into the multiple scenarios of her dreams. Jumping between the multiple events of her inner thoughts, we examine and compare the difference in time and structure. In Transform the use of shapes and colours are used to differentiate the movements occurring in her subconscious and conscious state, as well as reveal her passions, emotions, and deeper thoughts. The film is inspired by the surrealist artwork of René Magritte, specifically the technique of combining normal and realistic scenarios with a twist on its appearance. Elements of Transform were also inspired by Michel Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, specifically the use of editing and transitions from reality into the protagonist’s mind.
