Over the past year, Rijkswaterstaat and De Bouwcampus have designed an Open Learning Environment for Circular Bridges and Viaducts in which knowledge and experiences were exchanged with 60 companies. The goal was to develop new products to ensure that the viaducts on (national) roads can be built and maintained a lower CO2 footprint, less primary use of raw materials and lower environmental costs over the entire lifespan (including the following lifecycle). The Open Learning Environment consisted of business partners, knowledge institutes, public authorities, the ministry of public affairs and industry strange companies. The motto was: “learning by doing!”
